Meeka was found by a Good Samaritan and brought to the Bradshaw Animal Shelter. Sadly, no one came to claim this gorgeous 12-month-old silky Terrier/Shih Tzu mix puppy. The shelter staff quickly noticed she was limping, and after consulting with the shelter medical staff, it was determined that Meeka needed a consultation with a specialist. Following this consultation, it was determined that Meeka needed a Femoral Head Ostectomy (FHO). An FHO is a surgical procedure that aims to restore pain-free mobility to a diseased or damaged hip by removing the head and neck of the femur (the long leg bone or thighbone). TEAM fully funded Meeka’s FHO. Thankfully, Meeka was placed in an amazing foster home so she could recover outside of the shelter. After months of recovery, Meeka was adopted by her foster mom!
